Atlantic Fellow based at AFRE

Stha Yeni is a PhD candidate in the South African Research Chair in Poverty Land and Agrarian Studies at the University of the Western Cape (PLAAS). Her areas of research include land reform, small-scale agriculture, gendered nature of rural livelihoods and notions of belonging. She holds a Masters in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has 15 years’ work experience in civil society organisations, working around land and agrarian transformation in South Africa including Surplus People Project, Oxfam South Africa, Tshintsha Amakhaya and Land Accountability Research Centre at the University of Cape Town. She is a 2018 Atlantic Fellows For Racial Equity (AFRE) fellow.’
