The fifth panel was preceded by the screening of Celebrating Winnie Through Song and was a conversation between singer Thandiswa Mazwai and Lebo Ramafoko. Thandiswa Mazwai – who rarely speaks publicly about her work – spoke about her now-iconic song Nizalwa Ngobani, in a Q&A with Lebo Ramafoko. In a far-ranging conversation, Mazwai spoke about the genesis of the song and of its trajectory and also spoke of her own mother, Belede Mazwai and her on-going inspiration in her life.
